Saint Laurent is not the only brand going back to its basics this season. Proenza Schouler just launched a line—dubbed First Collection—for Barneys New York. As the name suggests, the limited-edition pieces are a reissue of the fashion label’s Fall 2003 collection.

It makes sense that designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez would team up with Barneys for this capsule collection as the department store bought their senior thesis collection from Parsons The New School for Design in 2002. Expect signature Proenza picks, including bustier tops, tissue T-shirts, and structured outerwear. While the new—or rather—old threads became available to NYC Madison Avenue and Beverly Hills shoppers last week, we have an exclusive first look at the Barneys windows.

The displays just went up today and were created by McCollough and Hernandez in partnership with Dennis Freedman, Barneys' creative director. The installation's high school science lab theme gives a subtle nod to the design duo's famous Parsons days, featuring windows complete with kinetic tanks of moving liquid, and lasers. Those lucky enough to pass by said exhibits will find looks from the First Collection and the label's archives. Check back on Wednesday after we chat with the designers about this exciting new shopping offering!
